THE VOICE
النَهي عَن رَفعِ الأصَّواتِ / Prohibition of Raising One’s Voice
1ـ رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): إنّ اللّهَ يُحِبُّ الصَّوتَ الخَفيضَ، ويُبغِضُ الصَّوتَ الرَّفيعَ.
1– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Verily Allah loves the low voice and despises the raised voice.’

2ـ رسولُ اللهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ) ـ في وصيِّتِهِ لأبي ذَرٍّ ـ: يا أباذَرٍّ، اخفِضْ صَوتَكَ عِند الجَنائزِ، وعِندَ القِتالِ، وعِندَ القرآنِ.
2– The Prophet (SAWA) said in his advice to Abu Dharr, ‘O Abu Dharr, lower your voice at funerals, during a battle, and when the Qur’an is being recited.’

THE VOICE
3ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): ثلاثٌ فيهِنَّ المُروءَةُ: غَضُّ الطَّرفِ، وغَضُّ الصَّوتِ، ومَشيُ القَصدِ.
3– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Three actions are considered to be gallant: lowering one’s gaze, lowering one’s voice and walking with deliberation.’

4ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): خَفضُ الصَّوتِ، وغَضُّ البَصَرِ، ومَشيُ القَصدِ، مِن أمارَةِ الإيمانِ وحُسنِ التَّـدَيُّنِ.
4– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Lowering one’s voice, lowering one’s gaze, and walking with deliberation are among the marks of one’s faith and the integrity of one’s devoutness.’
